WoW Classic Hunter Pre-BiS

The following Hunter Hunter pre-BiS list contains the best items you can get in WoW Classic before entering the endgame raids at level 60.

1 Materials and pattern are from Molten Core but Core Marksman Rifle Core Marksman Rifle can be bought from other players. It’s a very fast weapon and generally not worth the cost, not even before Bloodseeker Bloodseeker becomes available.
2 If you are “melee weaving” (attacking bosses with melee attacks in between auto shots), these weapons will be too slow to go off every time you can squeeze in a melee attack since they are slower than your ranged weapon. If you’re not maximizing the number of melee attacks or not melee weaving at all, they are solid weapons.

WoW Classic Hunter BiS Phase 2

The following Hunter Hunter BiS list contains the best items you can get in WoW Classic with Molten Core, Onyxia's Lair, World Bosses, and Dire Maul.

1 All rings will be very close together in terms of DPS. You need to balance the hit depending on the rest of your gear. If you have reached 9% hit, or 6% while wearing Trueaim Gauntlets Trueaim Gauntlets, then additional items with hit have massively reduced value to you. In guild raids, it will be hard to get the Molten Core rings, since they are BiS for Warriors Warriors and your damage gain is relatively low.

WoW Classic Hunter BiS Phase 3

The following Hunter Hunter BiS list contains the best items you can get in WoW Classic after the release of Blackwing Lair, Warsong Gulch vendors, and Rank 14 gear.

Gearing as a Hunter Hunter is more about the set bonus than a priority list of items. What the best items for you are will depend on what you have or aim for. This is the best in terms of DPS:

  1. Having 2 pieces of your rare PvP set (rank 10) with 4/8 pieces of your tier 2 PvE set and the rank 12 PvP gloves is BiS.
  2. If you do not have 4/8 tier 2 but rank 13 in PvP, you can use 6/6 of your epic PvP set with Wristguards of True Flight Wristguards of True Flight and reach nearly identical DPS.
  3. If you have rank 10 in PvP use 6/8 tier 2 by including the gloves and the 2 pieces of the rare PvP set.
  4. Try to get 8/8 T2 if you do not have any PvP gear.

The rank 12 PvP gloves stay BiS for Hunters Hunters, therefore ranking to Rank 12 Rank 12 or even Rank 13 Rank 13 has a very high value for Hunters Hunters. Use the WoW Classic Honor Calculator to check how many hours the ranking system will take. Ranking to Rank 14 Rank 14 is not necessary, since the rank 14 weapons are worse than Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting Ashjre'thul, Crossbow of Smiting.

WoW Classic Hunter BiS Phase 4

The following Hunter Hunter BiS list contains the best items you can get in Phase 4 of WoW Classic with the release of Zul'Gurub.

Items marked withIcon are BiS if you are not melee-weaving. Items marked with Icon are BiS if you are melee-weaving.

1 The 2-piece set bonus of your rank 10 PvP gear makes the head and shoulder BiS.
2 Dual-wielding two weapons with Enchant Weapon - Agility Enchant Weapon - Agility on each weapon provides higher DPS than a two-hander if you are not melee weaving. Melee weaving with a two-hander is the highest DPS but a more demanding playstyle.
