WoW Classic Engineering Guide

Leveling Engineering from 1-75 (Apprentice)

Craft the following items to level Engineering from 1-75 in WoW Classic Era, Hardcore, or Fresh:

• 1-30: 60x  Rough Blasting Powder – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 60x  Rough Stone.
• 30-50: 30x  Handful of Copper Bolts – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 30x  Copper Bar.
• 50-51: 1x  Arclight Spanner – tool required for many Engineering recipes.
  • Total items required: 6x  Copper Bar.
  • Check the auction house before crafting. You can often buy  Arclight Spanner below the crafting cost.
• 51-75: 30x  Rough Copper Bomb
  • Total items required: 60x  Rough Blasting Powder, 30x  Handful of Copper Bolts, 30x  Copper Bar, 30x  Linen Cloth.

Learn Journeyman Engineering (requires character level 10) from an Engineering trainer in any major city. It costs 5 . This allows you to level Engineering up to 150.

Leveling Engineering from 75-150 (Journeyman)

Craft the following items to level Engineering from 75-150 in WoW Classic Era, Hardcore, or Fresh:

• 75-90: 60x  Coarse Blasting Powder – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 60x  Coarse Stone.
• 90-100: 20x  Coarse Dynamite
  • Total items required: 60x  Coarse Blasting Powder, 20x  Linen Cloth.
• 100-105: 5x  Silver Contact
  • Total items required: 5x  Silver Bar.
• 105-125: 25x  Bronze Tube – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 50x  Bronze Bar, 25x  Weak Flux. You can buy  Weak Flux from vendors.
  • If you play Alliance, you can usually craft  Bronze Tube with profit since they are required for the quest Look To The Stars. Craft and sell  Bronze Tube until they turn green or even gray. In this case, skip  Standard Scope as much as possible.
• 125-135: 10x  Standard Scope
  • Total items required: 10x  Bronze Tube, 10x  Moss Agate.
  • Compare the auction house prices with  Heavy Stone. Craft  Heavy Blasting Powder instead, if  Heavy Stone is cheaper and  Standard Scope is not sought after.
• 135-150:
  • 30x  Heavy Blasting Powder – you’ll need these later.
    • Total items required: 30x  Heavy Stone.
  • 15x  Whirring Bronze Gizmo – you’ll need these later.
    • Total items required: 30x  Bronze Bar, 15x  Wool Cloth.

Learn Expert Engineering (requires character level 20) from an Artisan Engineering trainer. It costs 50 . This allows you to level Engineering up to 225. These are the available Artisan Engineers in WoW Classic:

• Springspindle Fizzlegear at Tinker Town in Ironforge (68.6 44.2).
• Roxxik in The Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar (76.0 25.0).

Leveling Engineering from 150-215 (Expert)

Craft the following items to level Engineering from 150-215 in WoW Classic Era, Hardcore, or Fresh:

• 150-160: 15x  Bronze Framework – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 30x  Bronze Bar, 15x  Medium Leather, 15x  Wool Cloth.
  • You can sell  Bronze Framework to a vendor for 6 . Craft this to at least 180, if the required mats cost less than 6 at the auction house.
• 160-170: 10x  Explosive Sheep – keep 5 if you want to be a Goblin engineer.
  • Total items required: 10x  Bronze Framework, 10x  Whirring Bronze Gizmo, 20x  Heavy Blasting Powder, 20x  Wool Cloth.
• 170-175: 5x  Gyrochronatom.
  • Total items required: 5x  Iron Bar, 5x  Gold Power Core.
  • Check the auction house for  Gold Power Core. Buy  Gold Power Core, if you can buy 3 for less than the value of 1  Gold Bar. Otherwise craft them yourself.
  • Craft  Gyrochronatom till the recipe turns green or even gray, if you can craft  Gyrochronatom with profit.  Gyrochronatom is required in many other recipes and is quite often profitable if you sell them at the auction house.
• 175-176: 1x  Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor – tool required for many Engineering recipes.
  • Total items required: 4x  Steel Bar.
  • Check the auction house before crafting. You can often buy  Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor cheaper than the crafting cost.
• 176-195: 60x  Solid Blasting Powder – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 120x  Solid Stone.
• 195-200: 7x  Mithril Tube – keep 6 if you want to be a Gnomish engineer.
  • Total items required: 21x  Mithril Bar.
• 200-215: 20x  Unstable Trigger – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 20x  Mithril Bar, 20x  Mageweave Cloth, 20x  Solid Blasting Powder.

Learn Artisan Engineering (requires level 35) from an Master Engineering trainer. It costs 5 . This allows you to level Engineering up to 300. These are the available Master Engineers in WoW Classic:

• Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan in Tanaris (52.2 27.6).

Leveling Engineering from 215-300 (Artisan)

Craft the following items to level Engineering from 215-300 in WoW Classic Era, Hardcore, or Fresh:

• 215-238: 40x  Mithril Casing – you’ll need these later.
  • Total items required: 120x  Mithril Bar.
• 238-250: 20x  Hi-Explosive Bomb.
  • Total items required: 40x  Mithril Casing, 20x  Unstable Trigger, 40x  Solid Blasting Powder.
• 250-260: 30x  Dense Blasting Powder (turns green at 255, you might need a few more).
  • Total items required: 60x  Dense Stone.
• 260-285: 35x  Thorium Widget
  • Total items required: 105x  Thorium Bar, 35x  Runecloth.
  •  Schematic: Thorium Widget can be purchased from Gearcutter Cogspinner in Ironforge (68.2 44.0) or Sovik in Orgrimmar (75.6 25.2).
• 285-300: 20x  Thorium Tube
  • Total items required: 120x  Thorium Bar
  •  Schematic: Thorium Tube can be purchased from Xizzer Fizzbolt in Winterspring (60.8 38.6).
