Best Auto Dismantling Settings in Lost Ark

With the recent Tripod changes, we go some new auto dismantling settings. In this guide, we’ll have a look at these settings, what they do, and what the best configuration could be.

Where Do I Find The New Settings

To set up your auto dismantling settings you need to configure two parts:

The new “Skill Tree Notification” (STN) dialog:

  1. Open your Combat Skills (hotkey “K”).
  2. Click on the “Settings” button below the skill tree of any skill.
  3. Click on the “Settings” button again.
  4. The second time you click on it it will open the “Skill Tree Notification” dialog.

The “Auto Dismantle” itself:

  1. Open your inventory.
  2. Click on the “Dismantle” button at the bottom.
  3. Click on the “Auto Dismantle” button in the bottom left corner.
  4. This will open the “Dismantle Config” dialog.

Skill Tree Notifications Explained

In the new “Skill Tree Notification”-dialog you’ll find the new option “Notification Filter” that needs to be explained. This has two settings:

  1. “S.T.N Effects Only” means: if an amulet drops that does not have at least one tripod you set up notifications for (by activating the tripod symbol in your skill tree), it will not be marked.
  2. “Exclude Fully Transferred Effects” means that every amulet will be marked as long as there is any tripod you are missing on it.

The last option is “Include Fully Transferred Effects”. In case you selected “S.T.N Effects Only” as your “Notification Filter” then you should:

  1. activate “Include Fully Transferred Effects” to mark already learned skill effects
  2. deactivate the “Include Fully Transferred Effects” to not mark already learned skill effects.

If you plan to sell e.g. level 5 tripods, you should activate this checkbox. If you don’t plan on selling amulets, you can deactivate this checkbox.

The Best Auto Dismantling Settings

There is not a single best auto dismantling setting for everyone. It really depends on your goals, your class, what item level the character has, and how much you value gold vs time. I think even within your roster it can make sense to have different settings for different characters.

In the following, I will provide different settings for inspiration.

Auto Dismantling #1: Learn All Tripods

What is this example good for?

  1. You want to learn all tripods for your class.
  2. You want to dismantle as many accessories as possible.
  3. You don’t care for GvG gear in terms of gold making.
  4. You want to dismantle all legendary accessories and are ok to potentially lose some gold to save time.

I personally use this e.g. on my Paladin. I want to learn the non-support tripods too but I don’t want to activate notifications for them. I want to minimize the time I spend on inventory management by dismantling all non-relic accessories and all relic accessories with Domination, Endurance, and Expertise.

Auto Dismantling #2: BiS Only

What is this example good for?

  1. You only care for the BiS level 5 tripods for this class.
  2. You want to sell amulets with BiS tripods.
  3. Only accessories with good engravings are relevant.

I personally use this on DPS characters that are 5×3 and have level 5 tripods already. I activate notifications for all tripos for both relevant builds. I want to auto-dismantle all tripods that aren’t activated by me and I’m only interested in level 5s.

For accessories, I want at least one good engraving to reduce the amount of inventory management I have to do. The drawback is, that you still see a lot of legendary gear. But with 1475 or above this drawback becomes less relevant.

Important: to use this, you have to mark the most valuable engravings as favorites. Press Alt+I to open the interface to do that.

The biggest problem with this setup is, that you will see a lot of Domination accessories if they have one good engraving. If you want to spend less time in your inventory, you could switch to “items with 2 Engravings in Favorites”.

Auto Dismantling #3: I Have The Important Tripods Already

What is this example good for?

  1. You already learned the most important Tripods for your class.
  2. You want to learn all unused tripods too, so future balance patches will not catch you off guard.
  3. To save silver and time you only want to learn level 5’s and skip the levels in between.
  4. You don’t care for GvG gear in terms of gold making.
  5. You want to dismantle all legendary accessories and are ok to potentially lose some gold to save time.

The 1475 Chaos Dungeon drops a lot of amulets. If you want to learn all Tripods and your Notification Threshold is too low (like in variant #1) you might get way too many amulets. If you have this problem, this config is for you:

The downside to this is, that you will still have duplicates of unused Tripods in your inventory, even after you know them. To solve this you would need to uncheck “Include Fully Transferred Effects”. But then, the valuable level 5’s would get dismantled too and you couldn’t sell them anymore.

At least in the 1475 Chaos Dungeon level 5’s are pretty rare. So I would recommend leaving the checkbox active for now.

The Favorite Engraving Effects

If you auto dismantle accessories of your current Item Rank (e.g. Legendary or Relic), you want to exclude gear with Engravings in Favorites. For this you have two options:

  1. Exclude items with 2 or more Engravings in Favorites.
You have to favorite the more niche engravings too to not lose out on valuable drops.
  2. Exclude items with 1 or more Engravings in Favorites.
You only favorite the main engravings.

In my experience, I had better results with “Exclude items with 1 or more Engravings in Favorites” and only marking the main engravings.

More niche engravings are less valuable and are mostly bought if they come with one of the main engravings. If a class has two niche engravings, it tries to avoid having both cheap engravings on the same accessory.

These are the engravings I added as favorites:

Additionally, I add whatever the character needs for himself (even Preemptive Strike).
