Engineering is one of the primary professions in WoW SoD. This guide provides a focused and efficient path to leveling Engineering from 1 to 300 in the Season of Discovery. Engineering in WoW SoD
The Season of Discovery (SoD for short) is the second season in WoW Classic. WoW Classic: SoD is divided into several phases. Since each phase has a character level cap, there is a limit to how high you can skill Engineering in the current phase.

Engineering in WoW SoD Phase 5-7
In SoD Phase 5, 6, and 7, professions are uncapped. You can level up to Engineering skill level 300 (Artisan). If you have already leveled Engineering to 300 in SoD P3 or P4, you do not need to level further in P5-7.
Engineering in WoW SoD Phase 4
In SoD Phase 4, professions are uncapped. You can level up to Engineering skill level 300 (Artisan). If you have already leveled Engineering to 300 in SoD P3, you do not need to level further in P4.
In P4, the following Engineering recipe was changed:
Fiery Core Sharpshooter Rifle (new version of Core Marksman Rifle)
Engineering in WoW SoD Phase 3
In SoD Phase 3, professions are uncapped. You can level up to Engineering skill level 300 (Artisan).
Where to Learn Artisan Engineering in SoD Phase 3
To learn Artisan Engineering in SoD Phase 3, you’ll need to have reached an Engineering skill of 200 and character level 41. Go to the following Engineering trainer to learn Artisan Engineering:
- Buzzek Bracketswing in Gadgetzan in Tanaris (52.2 27.6).
Engineering Specializations in SoD Phase 3
The two Engineering specializations Goblin Engineering and Gnomish Engineering are available in SoD Phase 3. To unlock one of the specializations, follow the same steps as in Classic Era or Hardcore. You’ll find these steps further up in this guide.
Engineering Exchange Ticket in SoD
After choosing a specialization, it is possible to earn 
Engineering Exchange Ticket in SoD. This item allows you to learn a recipe from the other specialization.
To earn Engineering Exchange Ticket, you’ll need to complete a quest chain starting with 
Gnomish Solutions | Goblin Solutions from Fizzbizz Coppercoil in Thousand Needles (77.0 77.2).
At the end of the quest chain, you’ll get the weekly quest Hush Money from Maximillian "The Greaser" in Thousand Needles (79.8 77.2) | Hush Money from Fizzbizz Coppercoil. For completing the quest, you’ll get 1x Engineering Exchange Ticket.

New Engineering Recipes in SoD Phase 3
As in Phases 1 and 2, SoD Phase 3 will also feature a new epic quest line to unlock new epic Nightmare Armaments crafting recipes. The cost to access these recipes will be “essentially free in terms of raw gold”.

How to Get Inert Mantle of Nightmares and Nightmare Seeds
Inert Mantle of Nightmares and Nightmare Seed are two new crafting materials that you need to craft the new epic items.
- Inert Mantle of Nightmares: You’ll get one at the end of the epic crafting quest chain in P3. If you need more, you can buy them from Rix Xizzix in Booty Bay (28.4 75.6) for 10g each.
- Nightmare Seed: Drops inside the Sunken Temple.
Engineering in WoW SoD Phase 2
In SoD Phase 2 the maximum character level is 40. The level requirement for Artisan has been increased to level 41 (normally level 35) for all professions in SoD. This means that in Phase 2 the maximum Engineering skill level is 225 (Expert). In Phase 2 it will therefore not be possible to bring Engineering to the maximum skill level of 300.
Where to Learn Engineering Expert in SoD Phase 2
To learn Engineering Expert in SoD Phase 2, you’ll need to have reached an Engineering Skill of 125 and character level 26. Go to one of the following Engineering trainers to learn Engineering Expert:
Springspindle Fizzlegear at Tinker Town in Ironforge (68.6 44.2).
Roxxik in The Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar (76.0 25.0).
Are Engineering Specializations Available in SoD Phase 2?
Engineering specializations are not be available in Phase 2, but only in Phase 3.

How to Get Pile of Tarnished Gears in SoD P2
You get Pile of Tarnished Gears by turning in 
Grime-Encrusted Salvage at The Salvagematic 9000 next to Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket after completing the epic crafting quest chain in Phase 2.
Grime Encrusted Salvage drops from mobs and bosses in Gnomeregan.
Inserting Grime-Encrusted Salvage into The Salvagematic 9000 turns it into 
Box of Gnomeregan Salvage. This box contains green crafting materials required to craft the blue materials for the new epic recipes.
How to Get Gnomeregan Fallout in SoD P2
Gnomeregan Fallout drops from mobs and bosses in Gnomeregan.
Important Engineering Recipe from SoD P1
In SoD Phase 1, the Engineering profession received the new recipe for 
Shredder Autosalvage Unit. 
Schematic: Shredder Autosalvage Unit drops from Sneed in the Deadmines. To craft Shredder Autosalvage Unit you need the following materials:
- 1x
Bronze Framework - 2x
Whirring Bronze Gizmo - 1x
Heavy Leather.
Use Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredder in Stonetalon Mountains around Windshear Crag for a chance to get 
Shredder Turbocharger.
Shredder Turbocharger is needed to complete the quest Shredder Turbochargers given by Grizzby in Ratchet in The Barrens. This is one of three quests from Grizzby that must be completed so that you can buy certain WoW SoD runes from him.
Engineering Gold Making and Leveling in SoD
The best way to level Engineering in SoD while making gold from it is to craft items that are needed to turn Waylaid Supplies into 
Supply Shipment. To level Engineering this way, you mainly craft the items needed to complete Waylaid Supplies. To do so you buy the materials needed in the auction house, craft the items, and then sell them with profit in the auction house.
