Runes are items that you can find in the world in the Season of Discovery of WoW Classic. Runes can be assigned to equipment slots and give your character powerful passive effects. This WoW SoD Rogue Runes guide explains which Rogue runes are new in Phase 4, which Rogue runes are already available in SoD, and how you can get them. Included are detailed descriptions of the Rogue rune locations.

The Rogue does not receive any new runes in SoD Phase 5.

How to Get Shadowstrike in SoD
You get the Shadowstrike rune (Hands) at level 2 in your starting zone in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Human:
- Get the level 2 quest Thrice Stolen from Jorik Kerridan in Northshire in Elwynn Forest (51 40).
- Loot the Defias Stashbox at (52.5 51.9).
- Dwarf, Gnome:
- Get the level 2 quest Thrice Stolen from Solm Hargrin in Dun Morogh (28 68).
- Loot the Frostmane Loot Cache at (30 80) in a cave on the south border of the starting area.
- Night Elf:
- Get the level 2 quest Second-Story Work from Frahun Shadewhisper in Teldrassil (60 39).
- Loot an Idol on a roof at (59.8 42.5).
- Orc, Troll:
- Get the level 2 quest Atop the Cliffs from Rwag in Durotar (42 68).
- The Hidden Cache you’re looking for is on a cliff at (43.2 69.6).
- Undead:
- Get the level 2 quest The Scarlet Rune from David Trias (33 66) in Tirisfal Glades.
- Kill or pickpocket Scarlet enemies in the southeast of the starting zone, until you get Rune of Shadowstrike.
How to Get Quick Draw in SoD
You get the Quick Draw rune (Chest) in the starting zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Dun Morogh:
- Collect four pieces of a treasure map. These can be looted or pickpocketed from the following mobs:
- Top-Right Map Piece: Frostmane Shadowcaster, Frostmane Hideskinner, Frostmane Novice, Frostmane Seer, Frostmane Troll Whelp, Frostmane Headhunter, and Frostmane Snowstrider in the west of Dun Morogh, east of Brewnall Village and in Coldridge Valley.
- Top-Left Map Piece: Rockjaw Ambusher, Rockjaw Raider, Burly Rockjaw Trogg, Rockjaw Trogg, and Rockjaw Skullthumper at Gol’Bolar Quarry and Coldridge Valley.
- Bottom-Right Map Piece: Leper Gnome west of Brewnall Village.
- Bottom-Left Map Piece: Dark Iron Spy southeast of Gol’Bolar Quarry.
- Combine the map pieces into Dun Morogh Treasure Map.
- Use the map at (47 43.7) under a bridge between Kharanos and Ironforge to find the treasure.
- Collect four pieces of a treasure map. These can be looted or pickpocketed from the following mobs:

How to Get Slaughter From the Shadows in SoD
You get the Slaughter from the Shadows rune (Chest) in the starting zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Dun Morogh:
- Can be found in a Rusty Lockboc atop the Inn in Kharanos at 47.0 52.0. Face the building and go left and up the mountain to get there.
- Elwynn Forest:
- Climb over the crates to the roof of the house north of the Inn in Goldshire at 46.0 62.2. There you will find a Rusty Lockbox with the rune
- Teldrassil:
- Found inside Gnarlpine Caches inside Barrow Den that spawn randomly all around 45 60.
- Durotar:
- Head to the Dustwind Cave entrance at 52 28 north of Razor Hill. Don’t enter the cave.
- Climb up the rocks to the right side when facing the cave’s entrance.
- At 53.8 27.1, jump to the ledge on which the chest with the rune is on.
- Tirisfal Glades:
- Loot Agamand Relic Coffer Key from Undead mobs in Tirisfal Glades.
- Use Agamand Relic Coffer Key to open a chest in the Agamand Family Crypt at 52.5 25.8.
How to Get Mutilate in SoD
You get the Mutilate rune (Hands) in the starting zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Dun Morogh:
- Pickpocket Dark Iron Dwarves south of Helmsbed Lake until you obtain Blackrat's Note.
- Bring Blackrat's Note to stealthed Blackrat (57.2 45.4).
- Elwynn Forest:
- Pickpocket Garrick Padfoot (57 47) to obtain Cutty's Note.
- Bring Cutty's Note to stealthed Cutty (49.8 52.0).
- Teldrassil:
- Dropped from Lord Melenas in the cave north of Dolanaar around (51 50).
- Durotar:
- Pickpocket Burning Blade Thug in the Dustwind Cave north of Razor Hill until you obtain Note from Ba'so.
- Bring Note from Ba'so to stealthed Ba'so in Durotar (52.0 58.4).
- Tirisfal Glades:
- Pickpocket Captain Perrine at (51.8 67.4).
- Take the ring to the town hall in Brill to forge a document.
- Bring the document to Jamie Nore in Brill (60.8 50.4).
How to Get Between the Eyes in SoD
You get the Between the Eyes rune (Legs) in the starting zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Dun Morogh:
- In Forlorn Cavern in Ironforge in a chest outside the Rogue Trainer area. To the right of the stairs is a niche at (51.9 12.8) containing the chest. Attention: When you open it, two level 10 mobs will spawn and attack you.
- Elwynn Forest:
- Go into the house at the end of the Cutthroat Alley in Stormwind. Open the chest upstairs at 61.9 29.3. Two level 10 enemies will be ambushing you.
- Teldrassil:
- Pickpocket or kill Gnarlpines to get Gnarlpine Stash Key.
- Open the stash at 37.9 82.5.
- Durotar:
- In a chest in The Drag (second level) in Orgrimmar at 55.9 44.9. Attention: When you open it, three mobs will spawn and attack you.
- Tirisfal Glades:
- Go to the northeast beach and pickpocket Murlocs to get a key.
- Open a chest underwater at (65.9 25.6) with the key.
How to Get Saber Slash in SoD
You get the Saber Slash rune (Hands) in the level 10+ quest zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Loch Modan:
- In a toolbox on a platform at the Stonewrought Dam in the north (46.4 12.7). The platform is behind some quest-givers.
- Westfall:
- On the hill behind the Sentinel Hill Inn, you will meet an Elite Defias Scout. He has the buff Escape Plan, which causes him to flee as soon as he senses danger.
- Use Stealth to avoid detection and steal from Defias Scout.
- Darkshore:
- In a small pocket between the tree roots of Auberdine Lighthouse (32 37).
- Silverpine Forest:
- Go to the entrance to Shadowfang Keep. Use Sprint to get to the small platform at 45.3 67.3.
- The Barrens (requires Lockpicking (80)):
- Go to Northwatch Hold. Go through the main gate and look left. You will see a stable with a chest on the roof.
- To get to the roof, go right and jump onto the wall behind the stable. From there you can jump to the roof.
- The chest must be opened with Lockpicking (80).
How to Get Blade Dance in SoD
You get the Blade Dance rune (Legs) in the level 10+ quest zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Loch Modan (requires Lockpicking (1)):
- Pickpocket Dark Iron Dwarves until you get Dark Iron Lockbox. You need Lockpicking (1) to open Dark Iron Lockbox and get Blade Dance.
- Westfall:
- Pickpocket Defias Footpad, Defias Trapper, and Defias Pillager until you’ll get Discreet Envelope. It contains Message from Emily and Equipment Stash Key and leads you to a chest outside the back entrance of the Deadmines (40.81 80.23). Open the chest to get the rune.
- Darkshore:
- Kill Naga in the Cliffspring River cave until you get Cliffspring Key. At the end of the cave, there is a ledge with three mobs and a chest. Inside is Blade Dance.
- The Barrens:
- Pickpocket Southsea Cannoneer south of Ratchet until you obtain Buccaneer's Matchbox.
- Go to the camp on the hill (62 44).
- At (61.8 45.8) you will find a gunpowder keg. Click on it to make it explode. Then you can open the chest with Blade Dance.
How to Get Cutthroat in SoD
You get the Cutthroat rune (Hands) in Duskwood in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Pickpocket Defias Night Runner, Defias Night Blade, and Defias Enchanter e.g. at Yorgen’s Farm (50 73) in Duskwood until you get Engraved Gold Ring.
- Go to the cemetery north of Raven Hill.
- Equip Engraved Gold Ring.
- Kneel in front of the statue in the Raven Hill cemetery (19.9 45.5).
Note: Cutthroat replaces the Shiv rune in SoD Phase 4. Up until phase 3, Shiv was available in the way described above. In P4, it will be removed.
How to Get Envenom in SoD
You get the Envenom rune (Legs) in Hillsbrad Foothills in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Go to Durnholde Keep in Hillsbrad Foothills. There is a vendor called Kris Legace behind the building where Tog'thar is located, around (80.0 39.0).
- Buy Hot Tip for 75 Silver and open it. You receive a map and Safe Combination.
- Follow the river north until you reach the Western Plaguelands. There you will find a waterfall, at the bottom of which there is a Rusty Safe (59.4 84.6). Inside you will find Rune of Venom.
How to Get Deadly Brew in SoD
You get the Deadly Brew rune (Chest) by reaching level 20 and completing a quest in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Reach level 20. You will receive a letter with the subject “An Offer” from C.
- Go to Pyrewood in Silverpine Forest. There is a hut near the entrance where you will find a chest.
- Loot the chest to start the quest The Horn of Xelthos. You know have two options to continue:
Option 1
- The quest takes you to Veenix in Stonetalon Mountains (58 52).
- Obtain Venture Co. Work Order by looting or stealing from Venture Co. mobs (e.g. Venture Co. Operator, Venture Co. Builder, or Venture Co. Engineer) in the east of Stonetalon Mountains.
- Bring Venture Co. Work Order to Veenix. You will receive Breaching Charge from him.
- Enter the Shadowfang Keep dungeon. Important: You have to be alone!
- Use Breaching Charge to open the locked gate. This will give you access to the entire keep without having to kill the first boss.
Option 2 (requires Vanish)
- Enter Shadowfang Keep. Important: You have to be alone!
- Stealth to the room with Rethilgore.
- Use the lever next to the cell of your faction’s NPC and Vanish immediately.
- Talk to the NPC in the cell. As a thank you, he will open the courtyard door for you.
- Reactivate Stealth and follow the NPC to the courtyard door.
- Sneak through the dungeon and pickpocket the two elite mobs Gemela (dining hall) and Gefell (up the stairs behind the dining hall and into the corridor on the right). You will receive Sister's Half-Key and Brother's Half-Key.
- Find a safe place as you will lose stealth with the following action.
- Combine Sister's Half-Key and Brother's Half-Key to Twin Key.
- Go back to the courtyard and enter the stables. You’ll find a chest there.
- Use Twin Key to open the chest. It contains Horn of Xelthos.
- Return to the hut in Pyrewood and turn in the quest The Horn of Xelthos.
- Enter a major city to get another message. Return to the hut again to get Deadly Brew.
How to Get Main Gauche in SoD
You get the Main Gauche rune (Hands) by buying it in Ratchet in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Update: Since the hotfix on April 16, 2024, you can buy Rune of Main Gauche directly from Grizzby in Ratchet for 3g. It is no longer necessary to deliver the items listed below.
The following steps are no longer necessary to get the rune:
- Go to Ratchet in the Barrens and talk to Grizzby in the Inn (62 39). For his quests, you have to collect the following materials:
- 24x Fish Oil:
- Drops from Murlocs and Naga e.g. in Hillsbrad Foothills.
- 20x Dark Iron Ordinance:
- Drops from Level 27 – 31 Elite Dark Iron Dwarves in Wetlands.
- 16x Shredder Turbocharger:
- To get Shredder Turbocharger, use Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredder in Stonetalon Mountains around Windshear Crag (not a guaranteed drop).
- Shredder Autosalvage Unit is crafted by Engineering. The recipe is a drop from Sneed in Deadmines.
- 24x Fish Oil:
- Turn in the items and accept the quest Let Me Make You An Offer or Let Me Make You An Offer from Grizzby.
- Hand in the quest to the following NPCs in your faction’s capital:
- Master Wood in Old Town in Stormwind City (79.2 47.6).
- Zel'mak in The Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar (80.2 29.6)
- Accept the quest You've Got Yourself A Deal from Master Wood or You've Got Yourself A Deal from Zel'mak which leads you back to Grizzby in Ratchet.
- Hand in the quest to Grizzby. He will now sell you Rune of Main Gauche for 3 gold.
If you can’t see the quest, your character level is too low. the quest should be available at level 20.
How to Get Just a Flesh Wound in SoD
You get the Just a Flesh Wound rune (Chest) by turning in Waylaid Supplies and Supply Shipments for reputation in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Alliance:
- Rune of Teasing can be purchased from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction once Friendly has been achieved. Right-click Rune of Teasing to learn Just a Flesh Wound.
- Horde:
- Rune of Teasing be purchased from the Durotar Supply and Logistics faction once Friendly has been achieved. Right-click Rune of Teasing to learn Just a Flesh Wound.

How to Get Rolling with the Punches in SoD
You get the Rolling with the Punches rune (Feet) in Thousand Needles in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Find the tent at 18.5 20.9 in Camp E’Thok in Thousand Needles. There’s a chest inside.
- Open the chest and all the other chests in it until you get Rune of the Southpaw. Learn the rune from it.
How to Get Shadowstep in SoD
You get the Shadowstep rune (Waist) by reaching level 30 in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: You must have already obtained the Deadly Brew rune.
- Reach level 30. You will receive another letter from C.
- Go to the Dead Drop in Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest. There is a hut near the entrance where you will find a chest (same as for Deadly Brew rune).
- Loot the chest to start the quest The Eye of Bhossca.
- Go to the stables at Scarlet Monastery and loot the chest at (81.2 32.1) to get Scarlet Initiate's Uniform. With Scarlet Initiate's Uniform you can disguise yourself as a member of the Scarlet Crusade.
- Enter Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard. Important: You have to be alone for the following steps!
- Use Scarlet Initiate's Uniform to disguise yourself.
- Pickpocket Scarlet Scryer to get Scryer's Key.
Note: According to feedback sent in via our feedback button, the following steps 8-10 are optional and for RP purposes. You can skip them and continue with step 11. - Enter Scarlet Monastery: Library (Athenaeum).
- Use Scryer's Key to open the chest in the last hallway. You’ll get Confidential Message.
- Go back to Scarlet Monastery: Graveyard.
- In Forloin Cloister, /sit on the two benches. They are located between two big statues on the left and right sides of the graveyard. The note “You hear a faint click” indicates that sitting on the bench worked.
- Find the Stone Coffer in the northern mausoleum and loot it. You’ll get Reliquary Key.
Note: You enter the Forloin Cloister area coming from the east. From there, the “northern” mausoleum is on your right side. - Go back to Scarlet Monastery: Library and loot the chest in the Gallery of Treasures. You’ll get Eye of Bhossca.
- Go back to the Dead Drop in Pyrewood Village and turn in the quest The Eye of Bhossca.
- Enter a major city to get another message. Return to the hut again to get Rune of Shadowstep.
How to Get Poisoned Knife in SoD
You get the Poisoned Knife rune (Waist) at level 30 in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Find the Extinguished Campfire at the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace at 47.5 54.6. You’ll get the quest Highway Robbery (requires level 30).
- Go to Bibbly F'utzbuckle northeast of the Kodo Graveyard at 62.2 38.8 and turn in the quest. You’ll get the quest On the Lam.
- Go to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. Turn in the quest at Tokal in the Booty Bay Inn (27.0 77.2). You’ll get the quest Cherry for Your Thoughts?.
- Buy Cherry Grog from Nixxrax Fillamug.
- Turn in the quest at Tokal. You’ll get the quest No Honor Among Thieves.
- Use the rowboat found at 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. It will teleport you to the eastern shore.
- Talk to Illari Duskfeather at the docks (93.8 71.4 on the Arathi Highlands map).
- Fight Illari Duskfeather and loot her bag to get Illari's Key. Note: Night Elves have the option to talk to her peacefully without a fight.
Tip: If someone has just fought her, you can loot the key from her bag as well. Then wait for her to respawn, talk to her and you can continue to the next - Open the chest near Illari Duskfeather at the docks to turn in the quest. You’ll get Jewel-Encrusted Box which contains Rune of the Poisoned Blade.
Note: This questline only needs to be completed once per account starting in SoD Phase 5. You can then buy item Emblem of Dishonor from Pix Xizzix at 28.4 75.8 in Booty Bay and mail it to an alt char. The emblem can be redeemed at a Rune Broker in any of the major cities to unlock the corresponding rune of the class.
How to Get Shuriken Toss in SoD
You get the Shuriken Toss rune (Waist) in Swamp of Sorrows in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: Level 30 & Disarm Trap trained.
- Go to 41 30 in Swamp of Sorrows. There you will find a Dart Trap on a tree. If you go to close, it will fire a Poison Dart at you.
- Use Disarm Trap to disarm the Dart Trap.
- Loot the chest to get the rune.
How to Get Master of Subtlety in SoD
You get the Master of Subtlety rune (Feet) in Stranglethorn Vale in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: Lockpicking (125)
- Go to Kurzen’s Compound in the north of Stranglethorn Vale.
- Enter the tower and talk to Wendel Mathers (44.2 8.0) who is imprisoned there.
- Enter the cave north of the tower.
- In the cave, pickpocket Kurzen Elite and Kurzen Subchief until you get Compound Cage Key.
- Look for the chest “Kurzen Supply Crate” in the cave at 49.7 7.8. Pick the lock and take Kurzen Fighter's Uniform.
- Go back to the tower and free Wendel Mathers.
- Go to Captain Aransas in Booty Bay (27.8 76.6). Talk to her to get the rune and Jani's Charm.
Note: Jani's Charm is needed to help a Priest player get the Dispersion rune.
How to Get Waylay in SoD
You get the Waylay rune (Feet) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Talk to Dalaran Agent in Ariden’s Camp in eastern Deadwind Pass (52.0 34.6). You’ll get Ariden's Sigil.
- Equip Ariden's Sigil (or be with a player who has equipped it).
- Kill all 7 Dark Rider found around the following locations and obtain their relics. You will get the Dark Presence buff when you’re in the right spot. Then use Ariden's Sigil to reveal the Dark Rider.
- Deadwind Pass ~ 44 29 (drops Curious Dalaran Relic)
- Duskwood ~ 23 46 (drops Glittering Dalaran Relic)
- Swamp of Sorrows ~ 70 29 (drops Odd Dalaran Relic)
- Arathi Highlands ~ 62 42 (drops Whirring Dalaran Relic)
- The Barrens ~ 52 36 (drops Heavy Dalaran Relic)
- Desolace ~ 66 23 (drops Creepy Dalaran Relic)
- Badlands ~ 57 55 (drops Slippery Dalaran Relic)
- Return to Dalaran Agent and turn in the 7 relics. As a reward, you’ll get the rune.
Note: This questline only needs to be completed once per account starting in SoD Phase 5. - Quartermaster Falinar at The Twilight Grove in Duskwood (45.6 51.2).
- Quartermaster Kyleen northeast of Satyrnaar in Ashenvale (89.6 40.6).
- Quartermaster Valdane north of The Twin Colossals in Feralas (48.1 12.7).
Note: Until Phase 4, it was necessary to reach Friendly with the Emerald Wardens faction to buy the rune. In P4, this requirement was removed.

You get the Unfair Advantage rune (Wrists) in Tanaris in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Pickpocket pirates in the Lost Rigger Cove area around 73 45 in Tanaris until you get Kidnapper's Coin Purse.
- Open Kidnapper's Coin Purse to get Precious Medallion.
- Bring Precious Medallion to Jabbey in Steamwheedle Port (67.0 22.0) and you’ll get Rune of Foul Play
How to Get Focused Attacks in SoD
You get the Focused Attacks rune (Head) in The Hinterlands the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: Blind trained (requires level 34).
- At 72.6 52.8 in The Hinterlands find the chest guarded by Vilebranch Mask.
- Use Blind on the mask and loot the chest. You’ll get Rune of Focus.
How to Get Carnage in SoD
You get the Carnage rune (Wrists) in Blasted Lands in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: Lockpicking (225) required.
- Go to 45.3 16.4 in Dreadmaul Hold in Blasted Lands.
- Open the lockbox on top of the tower (requires Lockpicking (225)). This will cause the level 46 mob Murderous Lost One to spawn.
- Kill Murderous Lost One and you’ll get Rune of Carnage.
How to Get Honor Among Thieves in SoD
You get the Honor Among Thieves rune (Head) at level 45 in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: Completed the Shadowstep rune, the Rogue quest The Manor, Ravenholdt, and unlocked Ravenholdt reputation.
- Reach level 45 and go to a major city. You will receive another letter that is sending you to Ravenholdt Manor.
- Find Fahrad in Ravenholdt Manor (84.6 80.2) and accept the quest Fool Me Twice
- Talk to Fahrad and accept the follow-up quest The Talisman of Kazdor.
- Enter Zul'Farrak alone.
- Inside Zul'Farrak, collect 2x Vile Concoction which can be found in Clay Vessels in tents anywhere in the dungeon.
- Use one Vile Concoction on the cauldron near Antu'sul.
- Loot Offering of Bone from his satchel.
- Use one Vile Concoction on the cauldron near Witch Doctor Zum'rah.
- Loot Ward of the Dead from his satchel.
- Equip Ward of the Dead and find the grave with the blue light on the graveyard.
- Loot Offering of Flesh from the grave.
- Combine Offering of Flesh with Offering of Bone to get Blood Magic Essence.
- Go to the big stairs and face them. To your right jump up the hill and climb the wall to reach a balcony. You’ll find a chest containing Hollow Emblem.
- Combine Hollow Emblem and Blood Magic Essence to get Emblem of Blood Magic.
- On top of the pyramid, loot the chest to get Talisman of Kazdor.
- Return to Ravenholdt Manor, turn in the quest at Fahrad, and accept the follow-up quest Best Laid Plans.
- Find Zan Shivsproket in the basement, turn in the quest, and accept the follow-up quest One Last Drop.
- Bring Modified Talisman to the Dead Drop in Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest. There is a hut near the entrance where you will find a chest (same as for Deadly Brew and Shadowstep runes).
- Turn in the quest at the Dead Drop and accept the follow-up quest Biding Our Time.
- Return to Fahrad at Ravenholdt Manor and turn in the quest. You’ll get Rune of the Coterie and Filcher's Cowl.
How to Get Combat Potency in SoD
You get the Combat Potency rune (Head) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Note: This quest chain is the same for all classes.
- Accept the quest The Wild Gods from Shadowtooth Emissary in the Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood (51.6 82.0). Note: The quest requires level 40 and is not sharable.
- [Only needs to be completed by one player in the group] Kill elites in Jintha’alor in The Hinterlands until you get Wildwhisper Draught.
- Kill the final boss in Razorfen Downs and clear the area.
- Use Wildwhisper Draught on the small ledge. This will cause the Spirit of Agamaggan to spawn.
- Turn in the quest at the Spirit of Agamaggan. You will get Agamaggan's Roar and the follow-up quest The Wild Gods.
- Collect 3 Wild Offering in Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, or Blackrock Depths. You can go to the same dungeon multiple times (e.g. 3x Zul’Farrak). Everyone in the group can loot the items regardless of whether having the quest or not. However, to get the rune, you will need to accept the quest sooner or later.
- Zul’Farrak:
- Kill 2-3 bosses (may depend on the boss combination) to spawn a spider ghost.
- The chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence” indicates that you did it correctly.
- The spider patrols around and south of Gahz'rilla.
- Use Agamaggan's Roar near the spider ghost. This will cause the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient to spawn.
- Kill the mob and loot Wild Offering.
- Kill 2-3 bosses (may depend on the boss combination) to spawn a spider ghost.
- Maraudon:
- Kill Princess Theradras to spawn a raptor ghost in the water on the upper level.
The chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence” indicates that you did it correctly. - Use Agamaggan's Roar near the raptor ghost. This will cause the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient to spawn.
- Kill the mob and loot Wild Offering.
- Kill Princess Theradras to spawn a raptor ghost in the water on the upper level.
- Blackrock Depths:
- Kill Houndmaster Grebmar, High Interrogator Gerstahn, and the Ring of Law to spawn a basilisk ghost on the Dark Iron Highway leading to Bael’gar.
The chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence” indicates that you did it correctly. - Use Agamaggan's Roar near the basilik ghost. This will cause the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient to spawn.
- Kill the mob and loot Wild Offering.
- Kill Houndmaster Grebmar, High Interrogator Gerstahn, and the Ring of Law to spawn a basilisk ghost on the Dark Iron Highway leading to Bael’gar.
- Zul’Farrak:
- Return to Shadowtooth Emissary in Felwood and turn in the quest. You’ll receive Hyjal's Wisdom from which you can learn the rune.
Once you get the rune, Shadowtooth Emissary sells the following items for Wild Offering:
- Shadowtooth Bag – 10 Wild Offering
- Band of the Wilds – 12 Wild Offering
- Breadth of the Beast – 12 Wild Offering

- Picklock Scarlet Footlockers in Tyr’s Hand in the southeast of Eastern Plaguelands until you get Sending Sigil.
Note: The description of Sending Sigil includes a directional code corresponding to Sending Pillars throughout Eastern Plaguelands. - Interact with the Sending Pillars in Eastern Plaguelands in the following order. Note: The pillars will teleport you around but you need to continue running in the correct order (don’t teleport back to skip running).
- East (81.5 58.0)
- South (40.4 92.1)
- North (69.6 35.1)
- West (15.0 28.5)
- After you’ve interacted with the fourth pillar, you’ll be teleported to a house. Inside you’ll find a chest.
- Open the chest and you’ll get the rune.
How to Get Crimson Tempest in SoD
You get the Crimson Tempest rune (Back) in Western Plaguelands the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Kill or pickpocket Scarlet Worker in Hearthglen in Western Plaguelands until you get Toolbox Key.
- Loot Rusty Crowbar from the Scarlet Toolbox at 45.0 14.1 in Hearthglen.
- Use Rusty Crowbar to open the Marked Crate at 45.9 18.5 on top of the tower.
- Loot Hidden Bundle from the crate which contains Safe Box Key.
- Use Safe Box Key to open Belavus’ Save Box at 46.5 14.1 on the middle floor of the tower.
- Loot Rune of the Crimson Tempest from the box and learn the rune from it.
