WoW SoD Epic Crafting

New epic recipes for all crafting professions were introduced in both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Season of Discovery in WoW Classic. To unlock the recipes you have to complete long quest chains. In this WoW SoD Epic Crafting guide, you will learn how to complete the epic recipe quest chains in SoD Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3, and what epic recipes are available.

Epic Crafting in SoD Phase 3

In SoD Phase 3, several new epic crafting recipes will be added. As in Phase 1 and Phase 2, you unlock the recipes by completing a long quest chain that starts in the Ashenvale Nightmare Incursion.

How to Get the New Epic Crafting Recipes in SoD P3

Follow these steps to unlock the new epic recipes in SoD Phase 3:

Note: The first quests in the chain only require level 40. For later quests in the chain, level 50 is required.

  1. In the Ashenvale Nightmare Incursion, get the debuff Aura of Paralyzing Dread Aura of Paralyzing Dread in the area south of the Warsong Lumber Camp. Don’t cross the bridge. In our experience, if you go into the water to the left of the bridge, you will reliably get the debuff.
  2. Exit the Ashenvale Nightmare Incursion and talk to Field Captain Hannalah in Ashenvale (89.6 40.6).
  3. Go through the new dialogue options, and accept the quest QuestAn Amalagamation of Nightmares (requires level 40).
  4. Talk to Loganaar in Moonglade (52.4 40.6) and accept the quest QuestItharius.
    [FIXED] The NPC is bugged at the moment and phases out for everyone else when someone turns in the quest. To respawn him, someone at the Shadowy Figure part of the quest chain has to put the Cenarion Circle “at war” and kill him. Alternatively, you can also try layer swapping.
  5. Talk to Itharius in Swamp of Sorrows at 13.6 71.6 in a cave. Accept the quest QuestGoing Under.
  6. Enter the Sunken Temple. The quest is completed apparently when entering the Lair of the Chosen.
  7. Return to Itharius and accept the next quest QuestReturn to Moonglade (requires level 50).
  8. Return to Loganaar in Moonglade and turn in the quest. This will cause Shadowy Figure to spawn.
  9. Talk to the Shadowy Figure and accept the quest QuestA Fortuitous Turn of Events.
  10. Click through the dialogue options, turn in the quest, and accept the quest QuestThe Bad News....
  11. Got to the Booty Bay Inn at 26.8 77.2 in Stranglethorn Vale.
  12. Talk to Injured Gnome next to the Rogue trainer and accept the quest QuestThe Lost Vambraces.
    Note: You can only see Injured Gnome when you’re on the quest chain.
  13. Go to Jaguero Island east of Booty Bay and find Itty Bitty Murloc at 40.8 85.8.
  14. Loot the dirt pile next to Itty Bitty Murloc and turn in the quest QuestThe Lost Vambraces. You’ll get Decharged Void-Powered Vambraces Decharged Void-Powered Vambraces.
  15. Return to the Shadowy Figure in Moonglade. You’ll get Void-Powered Vambraces Void-Powered Vambraces and the quest QuestWaking the Nightmare.
  16. Equip Void-Powered Vambraces Void-Powered Vambraces.
  17. Kill Nightmare Amalgamation in the Ashenvale Nightmare Incursion south of the Warsong Lumber Camp with the help of other players.
  18. Loot Mantle of Nightmares Mantle of Nightmares.
  19. Return to the Shadowy Figure in Moonglade and turn in the quest. You’ll get Inert Mantle of Nightmares Inert Mantle of Nightmares.
  20. Go through the new dialogue options and you’ll be able to learn the new epic recipes.
    Note: To learn the new recipes, you’ll need to have a profession skill of 250.

Inert Mantle of Nightmares Inert Mantle of Nightmares is one of the materials needed to craft the new epic items. If you need more, you can buy them from Rix Xizzix in Booty Bay (28.4 75.6) for 10g each.

The other new ingredient Nightmare Seed Nightmare Seed drops inside the Sunken Temple.

All New Epic Recipes in SoD P3

By completing the new epic crafting quest chain in SoD P3, you get access to the following crafting recipes:

Epic Crafting in SoD Phase 2

In SoD Phase 2 several new epic crafting recipes were added. As in Phase 1, you unlock the recipes by completing a long quest chain that starts in the P2 raid Gnomeregan.

How to Get the New Epic Crafting Recipes in SoD P2

Follow these steps to unlock the new epic recipes in SoD Phase 2:

    1. Get Grime-Encrusted Salvage Grime-Encrusted Salvage. It drops from mobs and bosses in Gnomeregan.
    2. Turn Grime-Encrusted Salvage Grime-Encrusted Salvage in at the Salvagematic 9000 next to Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket in The Clean Zone (costs 30 silver).
    3. Talk to Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket and you’ll get the quest QuestSalvaging the Salvagematic
    4. Obtain the following items for the quest:
      • 10x Mithril Bar Mithril Bar
      • 5x Greater Mystic Essence Greater Mystic Essence
      • 3x GG12-082 Cartridge Fuse GG12-082 Cartridge Fuse:
        • Drops within Gnomeregan, e.g. from Electrocutioner 6000, Mechanized Guardian, Mechanized Sentry
      • 1x Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor (see details below)
    5. Return to Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket in Gnomeregan and turn in the quest.
    6. You can now buy the new epic crafting recipes from Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket.

How to Get Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor in WoW SoD

To get Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor you need to complete a quest chain that starts outside Gnomeregan. Follow these steps:

1. Quest QuestThe Corroded Core

  1. Make sure you have accepted the quest QuestSalvaging the Salvagematic from Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket (see details above). Otherwise, you won’t be able to complete the next step.
  2. Kill the Techbot outside the instance to get Corroded G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor Corroded G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor. It will give you the quest QuestThe Corroded Core. You can get to the Techbot location as follows:
    • Alliance After entering Gnomeregan, instead of going left to the instance entrance, go right. Follow the path into the large room full of gnomes. On the left side of the room, there is a smaller room where the Techbot is.
    • Horde Once you arrive in Gnomeregan using the teleporter, go right. Follow the path into the large room full of gnomes. On the left side of the room, there is a smaller room where the Techbot is.
  3. Return to Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket and go through the new dialog options.
  4. Go to Booty Bay and talk to Scooty (27.6 77.4). You’ll get the quest QuestQuadrangulation. You will turn in QuestThe Corroded Core later (see step 3).

2. Quest QuestQuadrangulation

Update: In Phase 3, the quest QuestQuadrangulation no longer needs to be completed. You’ll find a teleporter at the foot of the pillar at 85.3 43.6 in Feralas that teleports you to Wirdal Wondergear at the top. There you can turn in the QuestThe Corroded Core and continue the chain (see step 3).

  1. Find the four beacons at the following locations:
    • Dustwallow Marsh at 58.6 13.0 underwater by a boat
    • Desolace at 32.0 72.7
    • Tanaris at 37.8 27.3
    • Feralas at 29.3 93.8
  2. Return to Booty Bay and turn in the quest at Scooty. You will get teleported to Feralas.

3. Quest QuestWarranty Claim

  1. Turn in QuestThe Corroded Core at Wirdal Wondergear (84.2 43.8) in Feralas and accept the quest QuestWarranty Claim.
  2. Obtain Charged Voidcore Charged Voidcore as follows:
    1. Kill Naga (Hatecrest Screamer, Hatecrest Siren, Hatecrest Sorceress) in the north of the Isle of Dread or south of Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas until you get Spent Voidcore Spent Voidcore.
    2. Kill mobs until a Shadowy Figure spawns. It seems like you can kill any mobs anywhere in the world that are at least green (would give XP if you weren’t XP-capped). I got my spawn from a level 37 Crushridge Mauler in Alterac Mountains while finishing some quests there.
      Tip: If the Shadowy Figure doesn’t spawn for you, according to player reports, deleting the cache folder or reloading can help.
    3. Talk to Shadowy Figure and you’ll get Mote of Darkness Mote of Darkness.
    4. Use Spent Voidcore Spent Voidcore to combine the items into Charged Voidcore Charged Voidcore
  3. Return to Booty Bay and use the teleporter to Feralas.
  4. Turn in the quest at Wirdal Wondergear. You’ll get Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor Pristine G-7 C.O.R.E. Processor

You can use the now-working Salvagematic 9000 to turn in Grime-Encrusted Salvage in WoW SoD which converts to Box of Gnomeregan Salvage Box of Gnomeregan Salvage. This box contains the green crafting materials required to craft the blue materials for the new epic recipes.

All New Epic Recipes in SoD P2

Ziri "The Wrench" Littlesprocket sells the following epic recipes for 5 gold each:

Epic Crafting in SoD Phase 1

To craft the epic void-touched recipes in SoD, you must complete a questline. The prerequisite for completing the questline is skill level 100 in Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, or Tailoring. Once you complete the questline, you will unlock the void-touched epic recipes for all three professions.

To complete the void-touched gear questline, do the following:

  1. Buy Elixir of Coalesced Regret Elixir of Coalesced Regret from the Auction House or craft it with Alchemy. Recipe: Elixir of Coalesced Regret Recipe: Elixir of Coalesced Regret is sold by Zixil in Hillsbrad Foothills and Kzixx in Duskwood.
  2. Go to Dead Twilight Cultist at Zoram Strand in Ashenvale (17.2 26.6).
  3. Use Elixir of Coalesced Regret Elixir of Coalesced Regret and talk to Dead Twilight Cultist.
  4. Go to Blackfathom Deeps and kill the second boss Ghamoo-ra.
  5. Interact with Old Serra'kis on the boss’s platform. You will receive Handful of Shifting Scales Handful of Shifting Scales.
  6. Collect the following materials:
    • 5 Gold
    • 40x Strange Dust Strange Dust
    • 5x Greater Magic Essence Greater Magic Essence
    • 2x Small Glimmering Shard Small Glimmering Shard
  7. Go to Ratchet in The Barrens. Speak to N'ora Anyheart (62.0 39.4) to receive the quest QuestShifting Scale Talisman.
  8. Deliver the previously collected materials to N'ora Anyheart. You will receive Shifting Scale Talisman Shifting Scale Talisman.
  9. Go to the Blackfathom Depths again. Before you reach Twilight Lord Kelris‘s room, jump into the water on the left.
  10. Find the Artisan’s Chest underwater at the end of the cave. From it you will receive The Box The Box.
  11. Go to Hillsbrad Foothills and enter the cave at (77.8 19.3). You reach Ravenholdt Manor.
  12. Go right and follow the path through the mountains until you reach (88.6 73.5) in the Alterac Mountains. There is a large, brightly glowing crystal there.
  13. When you are close to the crystal, interact with The Box The Box in your inventory. You will receive a Shard of the Void Shard of the Void, which is needed to craft void-touched gear.
  14. Interact with Shadowy Figure who spawns near the crystal at (88.6 73.6). At the end of the dialogue with Shadowy Figure, be sure to choose the option “Fine, show me. If only to stop your prattling.”
  15. You will learn the recipes for all four epic void-touched items from Shadowy Figure. These are:
    • Extraplanar Spidersilk Boots Extraplanar Spidersilk Boots
    • Void-Touched Leather Gauntlets Void-Touched Leather Gauntlets
    • Void-Touched Leather Gloves Void-Touched Leather Gloves
    • Shifting Silver Breastplate Shifting Silver Breastplate

If you need another Shard of the Void Shard of the Void, you can repeat the procedure from step 9.
