WoW SoD Nightmare Incursions

Nightmare Incursions are a new PvE event in Phase 3 of the Season of Discovery in WoW Classic. As you progress, you’ll be able to earn experience and gain reputation with the new Emerald Wardens faction. As a reward, the faction will be offering a selection of new items.

What Are Nightmare Incursions in SoD Phase 3?

Nightmare Incursions are a new PvE event in WoW SoD Phase 3. This repeatable content is intended for levels 25-50. You can participate in the event by entering one of the four dream portals. The portals are located in Ashenvale, Duskwood, The Hinterlands, and Feralas.

According to Blizzard, the portals will plunge you into a “realm seeping with corruption and overrun with dragons, treants, and other poor souls driven mad by the corruption”. Some of these corrupted enemies are doable solo while others require a group.

As you progress, you’ll be able to earn experience and gain reputation with the new Emerald Wardens faction.

What Level is Needed To Participate in Nightmare Incursions?

Nightmare Incursions in SoD P3 are separated by level. Duskwood is predominately level 25 content, Ashenvale is Level 40 content, and Feralas and The Hinterlands are level 50 content.

Nightmare Incursions Portal Locations

You can find the Nightmare Incursions portals in the following places:

• Duskwood (level 25):
  The portal is located in the Twilight Grove at 46 37.
• Ashenvale (level 40):
  The portal is located in the northeastern corner at 93 38.
• The Hinterlands (level 50):
  The portal is located in Seradane at 63 29.
• Feralas (level 50):
  The portal is located northeast of The Twin Colossals at 51 9.

To get started you need to accept an introduction quest from a Field Captain, like Recover Incursion Field Report: Ashenvale in Ashenvale.

Nightmare Incursions Quests in SoD

You’ll start each incursion with a quest that you get from a Field Captain outside of each of the dream portals. You find the Field Captains at the following locations:

• Field Captain Arunnel in Feralas (48.6 12.4): Recover Incursion Field Report: Feralas.
• Field Captain Korlian in The Hinterlands (61.6 34.2): Recover Incursion Field Report: Hinterlands.
• Field Captain Palandar in Duskwood (45.6 51.2): Recover Incursion Field Report: Duskwood.
• Field Captain Hannalah in Ashenvale (89.6 40.6): Recover Incursion Field Report: Ashenvale.

These NPCs give you the introduction quest. For this starter quest, you’ll have to neutralize some demon creatures and make contact with an agent of the Emerald Wardens next to the dream portal.

After you’ve handed in the starter quest at the Field Captain, you will get a satchel with a randomized mission that will take you into the nearby portal to perform a task. These missions are flagged as elite quests and could be several things from missions to slay targets, gather resources, or even defeat a very powerful boss.

Some of these elite quests can be completed solo. Others will be very challenging to complete solo and are better done with a group. By completing these quests you gain reputation with the Emerald Wardens faction.

Nightmare Incursions Daily Quest

Currently, there is one Daily Quest available for Nightmare Incursions: Fight the Nightmare Incursions, granting 1000 reputation with the Emerald Wardens.

• Start & End: Field Captain Korlian in The Hinterlands (61.6 34.2) or Field Captain Arunnel in Feralas (48.6 12.4).
• Task: Complete a Nightmare Incursion mission in Feralas or Hinterlands.

How to Optimize Nightmare Incursions

If you want to optimize your Nightmare Incursions, you should do them in a 5 player group. After turning in a quest, you get a new randomized quest. You also receive an item to share this quest with your group.

Everyone in the group accepts their quests and shares as many quests as possible. Most of the time, you will have 15 – 17 quests in your quest log after a short warm-up phase. You can complete all quests in one run. Return to the Field Captain and repeat.

To save time, you can accept and share your quests inside the Nightmare Incursion. Stand at the bottom of the ramp that leads to the portal. Since accepting and sharing all the quests takes some time, chances are good you’re completing 2 to 3 rescue quests just by standing there.

What Are Emerald Chips Needed For?

Nightmare Incursion quests in Feralas and The Hinterlands reward you with  Emerald Chip. They are a new currency to buy the epic items at Revered and Exalted with the Emerald Wardens faction. The Revered items cost 50  Emerald Chip and the Exalted items cost 75  Emerald Chip each.
