What Is Student Fodder in WoW SoD?

Student Fodder Student Fodder is a new item in WoW SoD Phase 2 that grants you 20% rested XP on use. In addition, it grants 675 Health, 675 Mana, 100 Energy, and 40 Rage.

Student Fodder Student Fodder has a 30-minute cooldown, so you can’t use multiple of these at once.

How to Get Student Fodder in WoW SoD

You get 8 Student Fodder Student Fodder while completing quests to get the Sleeping Bag in WoW SoD. The following quests in the chain reward you with Student Fodder Student Fodder:

  5. Eagle’s Fist

Can you Get More Student Fodder in WoW SoD?

In SoD P3, a new way to get 3 additional Student Fodder Student Fodder was added. You’ll get them by completing the hidden Blackrock Depths quest QuestEver After. To find the quest giver Rugged Traveler in BRD, follow these steps:

Note: The Rugged Traveler despawns if more than two players enter the quest area.

  1. Above the Ring of Law enter the room with Pyromancer Loregrain.
  2. Turn left and go to the bridge.
  3. At the end of the bridge, go to the brazier on the left side.
  4. Jump down onto the ledge on the left side of the bridge.
  5. Jump down onto the next ledge below.
  6. Enter the small room and talk to Rugged Traveler until you get the quest QuestEver After.
  7. Turn in the quest at Rugged Traveler. As a reward, you’ll get 3x Student Fodder Student Fodder, Premo's Poise-Demanding Uniform Premo's Poise-Demanding Uniform, and Rainbow Generator Rainbow Generator.

When Is the Best Time to Use Student Fodder?

The best time to use your Student Fodder Student Fodder is with level 38 and level 39. Since it gives 20% rested XP, the absolute amount of rested XP is higher if you use Student Fodder Student Fodder in higher character levels.

But don’t keep all 8 Student Fodder Student Fodder until level 39. Due to the cooldown and depending on your leveling speed you might not be able to use them all at level 39. Also worth noting is, that using one or two Student Fodder Student Fodder with e.g. levels 32 and 34 might be worth it depending on your playstyle. Reaching 33 and 35 gets you into better Scarlet Monastery groups, so reaching these thresholds faster is worth it if you’re leveling through dungeon grinding.

Is Student Fodder Usable In SoD Phase 3?

Update April 5th, 2024: As confirmed by several players, Student Fodder Student Fodder can still be used in SoD Phase 3.

Blizzard has not yet commented on whether Student Fodder Student Fodder can also be used after SoD Phase 2. There is currently no indication in the item tooltip that the Student Fodder Student Fodder could expire in later phases or have a level limit.
