Runes are items that you can find in the world in the Season of Discovery in WoW Classic. Runes can be assigned to equipment slots and give your character powerful passive effects. This WoW SoD Warrior Runes guide explains which Warrior runes are available in SoD, and how you can get them. Included are detailed descriptions of the Warrior rune locations.

How to Get all Warrior Runes in SoD
The following runes are available for the Warrior in SoD. Click on a rune to go directly to the location description.
Update: Since December 2024, all SoD runes and skill books can be purchased from Rune Brokers at level 1. The runes no longer have to be found or unlocked by completing quests (although this is still possible). You’ll find Rune Brokers e.g. at the following locations:

How to Get Victory Rush in SoD
You get the Victory Rush rune (Hands) at level 2 in your starting zone in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Human:
- Get the level 2 quest
Investigate Echo Ridge from Marshal McBride in Northshire in Elwynn Forest.
- The quest takes you to the Echo Ridge Mine. At the back of the mine, you will find a chest containing
Rune of Victory Rush.
- Get the level 2 quest
Dwarf,
Gnome:
- Get the level 2 quest
Simple Rune from Sten Stoutarm in Coldridge Valley in Dun Morogh (30 71).
- The quest takes you to Thran Khorman (29 67). From him, you will receive another quest in which you have to kill trolls. One of the trolls drops
Rune of Victory Rush.
- Get the level 2 quest
Night Elf:
- Get the level 2 quest
Amidst the Shadowed Webs from Alyissia in Shadowglen in Teldrassil (60 39).
- Kill spiders in the cave in the far northwest of Shadowglen until
Rune of Victory Rush drops.

The Lost Rune from Dannal Stern in Tirisfal (33 66).
- Go to the Night Web’s Hollow (28 59). In the cave, you will find a chest containing

You get the Blood Frenzy rune (Chest) in the starting zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Dun Morogh:
- Drops from Wandering Swordsman who is wandering around (53.6 47.6). Wandering Swordsman is friendly until you interact with him and challenge him.
Elwynn Forest:
- Drops from Wandering Swordsman who is wandering around the southwest of Goldshire. He can e.g. be found around (25.2 70.6), (30.6 74.2), (40.8 72.6), and (36.6 79.8). Wandering Swordsman is friendly until you interact with him and challenge him.
Teldrassil:
- Drops from Wandering Swordsman who is wandering around. He can e.g. be found around (43.8 77.0), (62.6 71.8), (39.8 37.6), (39.8 69.4), and (54.8 66.0). Wandering Swordsman is friendly until you interact with him and challenge him.
Durotar:

You get the Devastate rune (Hands) in the starting zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:

- Talk to Liv Bradford at the Inn in the Park in Stormwind City (23 65).
- Defeat Stuart in the Inn and return to Liv Bradford.
Teldrassil:
- Talk to Innkeeper Keldamyr in Dolanaar (56 60).
- Defeat Syllart to get
Frenzied Assault.
Durotar:
- Talk to Zamja in Orgrimmar (58 54).
- Kill Gru'ark outside the hut.
Mulgore:

How to Get Endless Rage in SoD
You get the Endless Rage rune (Head) in the level 10+ quest zones in the Season of Discovery as follows.
Darkshore:
- Dropped from Lady Sedorax near the Cliffspring River.
Westfall:
- Dropped from Master Digger at Jangolode Mine around (45.8 18.2).

Battle Totem.
- Use
Battle Totem to challenge the Level 19 Elite Haren Swifthoof. Kill him and you will receive
Endless Rage.
- Kill Elite ogres at Mo’grosh Stronghold until you get
The Barrens:
- Find
Horde Warbanner in Crossroads.
- Travel to Northwatch Hold and replace the Alliance banner you’ll find there.
- Lieutenant Stonebrew will spawn. Defeat him to get the rune.
- Find
Silverpine Forest:
- Go to Skittering Dark and kill the Web Wrap in the cave.
- Lost Adventurer will then spawn. Kill him and you will receive
Endless Rage.
Note: In SoD P4, the Endless Rage will be moved from the Hands slot to the Head slot.
How to get Quick Strike in SoD
You get the Quick Strike rune (Hands) in the level 10+ quest zones in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Loch Modan:
- Kill Troggs in the area around (41 72) to get
Cracked Skull-Shaped Geode.
- Get hit by Stonesplinter Skullthumper‘s stun. You can find Stonesplinter Skullthumper on the northern island and in the very southwest of Loch Modan.
- Kill Troggs in the area around (41 72) to get
Darkshore:
- Collect
Gnarled Harpoon around (48 16).
- Use
Gnarled Harpoon to kill Paxnozz and get
Quick Strike.
- Collect
Westfall:
- Kill Defias to get
Gillsbane.
- Use
Gillsbane to kill Murlocs and get
Soul of the Sea.
- Go to the Medusa statue at (26 70). Interact with it and a level 20 mob will spawn.
- Kill the mob and you get
Quick Strike.
- Kill Defias to get
The Barrens:
- Talk to Kilxx at the docks in Ratchet (62.8 38.2).
- Buy 1x
Fishing Harpoon.
- Find the shark Bruuz in the bay of Ratchet.
- Use
Fishing Harpoon and kill the shark.
How to Get Flagellation in SoD
You get the Flagellation rune (Chest) in Duskwood in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Go to the Raven Hill Cemetery in Duskwood.
- Enter the right crypt (24 35) and go left.
- On the right side of the room, you will find a container from which you can loot
Decrepit Phylactery.
- Enter the left crypt (16 38) and go right.
- Use
Decrepit Phylactery on the skeleton lying on an altar. Awakened Lich spawns.
- Defeat Awakened Lich to get
Flagellation.
How to Get Raging Blow in SoD
You get the Raging Blow rune (Chest) in Ashenvale in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Bring the following three items to Alonso in Ashenvale (42 70):
Dragonslayer's Shield: Can be found behind Gath'Ilzogg in Redridge Mountains (69 55).
Dragonslayer's Lance: Can be purchased for 75 Silver from Dark Iron Entrepreneur in Wetlands (47 18).
Dragonslayer's Helm: Can be found behind Commander Springvale in Shadowfang Keep.
- After you’ve turned in the 3 quests, you need to kill one enemy. If you can’t find Alonso, someone else did it just before you and you need to wait a few minutes.
How to Get Consumed by Rage in SoD
You get the Consumed By Rage rune (Legs) from a level 25 Elite mob in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Drops from the elite mob Carrodin in Thelgen Rock cave in Wetlands. You can find Carrodin at the end of the cave at 47 64.
How to Get Warbringer in SoD
You get the Warbringer rune (Chest) by buying it in Ratchet in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Update: Since the hotfix on April 16, 2024, you can buy Rune of the Warbringer directly from Grizzby in Ratchet for 3g. It is no longer necessary to deliver the items listed below.
The following steps are no longer necessary to get the rune:
- Go to Ratchet in the Barrens and talk to Grizzby in the Inn (62 39). For his quests, you have to collect the following materials:
- 24x
Fish Oil:
- Drops from Murlocs and Naga e.g. in Hillsbrad Foothills.
- 20x
Dark Iron Ordinance:
- Drops from Level 27 – 31 Elite Dark Iron Dwarves in Wetlands.
- 16x
Shredder Turbocharger:

Shredder Turbocharger, use
Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredder in Stonetalon Mountains around Windshear Crag (not a guaranteed drop).
Shredder Autosalvage Unit is crafted by Engineering. The recipe is a drop from Sneed in Deadmines.

- Hand in the quest to the following NPCs in your faction’s capital:

- Accept the quest
You've Got Yourself A Deal from Master Wood or
You've Got Yourself A Deal from Zel'mak which leads you back to Grizzby in Ratchet.
- Hand in the quest to Grizzby. He will now sell you
Rune of the Warbringer for 3 gold.
If you can’t see the quest, your character level is too low. the quest should be available at level 20.
How to Get Single-Minded Fury in SoD
You get the Single-Minded Fury rune (Hands) by turning in Waylaid Supplies and Supply Shipments for reputation in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Alliance:
- Can be purchased from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction once Friendly has been achieved.
Horde:
- Can be purchased from the Durotar Supply and Logistics faction once Friendly has been achieved.

How to Get Focused Rage in SoD
You get the Focused Rage rune (Waist) in Arathi Highlands in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Go to the Witherbark Cave in Arathi Highlands at 63 77.
- Kill Witherbark trolls until you get
Witherbark Mallet. The trolls can be found in and outside the cave.
- Use
Witherbark Mallet on the gong in the cave. This causes the Level 35 Elite Witherbark Goliath and 2 non-elite adds to spawn.
- Kill Witherbark Goliath to get the rune.
How to Get Intervene in SoD
You get the Intervene rune (Feet) in Thousand Needles in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Go to the southwest corner of The Shimmering Flats at ~ 68 88.7 in Thousand Needles. There you’ll find three training dummies.
Execute the left target dummy.
Taunt the middle target dummy.
Shield Bash the right target dummy.
- Open the appearing chest to get the rune.
How to Get Rallying Cry in SoD
You get the Rallying Cry rune (Feet) in Badlands the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Badlands:
Rune of the Commander drops from Wandering Swordsman. He can e.g. spawn around (15.6 45.8), (24.2 58.2), (27.8 67.8), (32 65.9), or (35.6 59.6) in the southwest.
How to Get Enraged Regeneration in SoD
You get the Enraged Regeneration rune (Feet) at level 30 in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Find the Extinguished Campfire at the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace at 47.5 54.6. You’ll get the quest
Highway Robbery (requires level 30).
- Go to Bibbly F'utzbuckle northeast of the Kodo Graveyard at 62.2 38.8 and turn in the quest. You’ll get the quest
On the Lam.
- Go to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. Turn in the quest at Tokal in the Booty Bay Inn (27.0 77.2). You’ll get the quest
Cherry for Your Thoughts?.
- Buy
Cherry Grog from Nixxrax Fillamug.
- Turn in the quest at Tokal. You’ll get the quest
No Honor Among Thieves.
- Use the rowboat found at 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. It will teleport you to the eastern shore.
- Talk to Illari Duskfeather at the docks (93.8 71.4 on the Arathi Highlands map).
- Fight Illari Duskfeather and loot her bag to get
Illari's Key. Note:
Night Elves have the option to talk to her peacefully without a fight.
Tip: If someone has just fought her, you can loot the key from her bag as well. Then wait for her to respawn, talk to her and you can continue to the next - Open the chest near Illari Duskfeather at the docks to turn in the quest. You’ll get
Jewel-Encrusted Box which contains the rune.
Note: This questline only needs to be completed once per account starting in SoD Phase 5. You can then buy item Emblem of Dishonor from Pix Xizzix at 28.4 75.8 in Booty Bay and mail it to an alt char. The emblem can be redeemed at a Rune Broker in any of the major cities to unlock the corresponding rune of the class.
How to Get Blood Surge in SoD
You get the Blood Surge rune (Waist) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Kill Elite ogres in the Ruins of Alterac in Alterac Mountains or southwest of Stormgarde Keep in Arathi Highlands until you get
Illegible Recipe. This will start the quest
Anyone Can Cook.
- Go to Skonk in the southeast of Arathi Highlands (57.6 74.5) and turn in the quest. You’ll get the follow-up quest
A Quick Grocery Run.
- Obtain the following items:
Hybrid Haunch: Drops from Wild Gryphon northeast of Durnholde Keep in Hillsbrad Foothills.
Smuggler's Spice Blend: In a Sealed Barrel at the bottom of the sunken vessel at 21.5 83.9 in Arathi Highlands.
Balmy Brew: In Tapped Shadowforge Keg in the basement of Angor Fortress in Badlands (41.5 27.9.
Viscous Venom: Drops from Deathstrike Tarantula southeast of Stonard in Swamp of Sorrows.
- Return to Skonk and turn in the quest.
- Defeat Skonk to get the rune and
Shawarmageddon.
How to Get Precise Timing in SoD
You get the Precise Timing rune (Waist) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Talk to Dalaran Agent in Ariden’s Camp in eastern Deadwind Pass (52.0 34.6). You’ll get
Ariden's Sigil.
- Equip
Ariden's Sigil (or be with a player who has equipped it).
- Kill all 7 Dark Rider found around the following locations and obtain their relics. You will get the
Dark Presence buff when you’re in the right spot. Then use
Ariden's Sigil to reveal the Dark Rider.
- Deadwind Pass ~ 44 29 (drops
Curious Dalaran Relic)
- Duskwood ~ 23 46 (drops

The emblem can be redeemed at a Rune Broker in any of the major cities to unlock the corresponding rune of the class.
How to Get Shield Mastery in SoD
You get the Shield Mastery rune (Head) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Buy
Rune of the Protector for 1g 60s from one of the following Emerald Wardens Quartermasters:
- Quartermaster Alandra south of [Seradane] in The Hinterlands (61.2 34.6).
- Quartermaster Falinar at The Twilight Grove in Duskwood (45.6 51.2).
- Quartermaster Kyleen northeast of Satyrnaar in Ashenvale (89.6 40.6).
- Quartermaster Valdane north of The Twin Colossals in Feralas (48.1 12.7).
Note: Until Phase 4, it was necessary to reach Friendly with the Emerald Wardens faction to buy the rune. In P4, this requirement was removed.
How to Get Vigilance in SoD
You get the Vigilance rune (Head) in Feralas in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- At 77.6 62.0 in Feralas kill the level 46 elite Tyrant of the Hive and loot
Rune of the Watchman.
How to Get Rampage in SoD
You get the Rampage rune (Wrists) in Feralas in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Kill Ohk'zi inside a cave at 75.0 25.0 in Feralas to get
Rune of the Unbridled. The path starts at 75.0 35.2.
How to Get Wrecking Crew in SoD
You get the Wrecking Crew rune (Wrists) in The Hinterlands the Season of Discovery as follows:
Prerequisite: Level 41 is required to use the hammer.
- Kill Witherbark trolls in The Hinterlands e.g. around 18 54 until you get
Geode Hammer.
- Equip
Geode Hammer (requires level 41).
- Kill trolls with
Geode Hammer until it turns into
Broken Geode Hammer that contains
Rune of Demolition.
How to Get Taste for Blood in SoD
You get the Taste for Blood rune (Head) in Searing Gorge in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Note: You can group up with a player who already collected all golem parts, kill Iodax the Obliterator together, and get the rune.
- Find the following golem parts in Searing Gorge in any order:
Left Arm of the Obliterator: inside Slag Pit at 42.0 44.6.
Right Foot of the Obliterator: inside Slag Pit at 43 32.3.
Right Arm of the Obliterator: Incendosaur cave below Slag Pit at 49.4 37.1.
Left Foot of the Obliterator: very back of the Incendosaur cave below Slag Pit at 42.6 30.4.
- Take the parts to the head at 65 45 in Searing Gorge to summon the level 50 elite Iodax the Obliterator.
- Kill Iodax the Obliterator to get
Rune of the Bloodthirsty.
How to Get Gladiator Stance in SoD
You get the Gladiator Stance rune (Feet) at level 45 in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Get the quest
The Old Champ (requires level 45) from Fizbuz Mithril in the Gadgetzan arena in Tanaris (51.6 27.6).
- Turn in the quest at Kajind in Azshara (25.5 64.9). You’ll get the follow-up quest
Defanged.
- Kill Ceruleos in Azshara patrolling east of the Forlorn Ridge around 39 70 and loot
Kajind's Blade.
- Return to Kajind and accept the follow-up quest
Return to the Arena.
- Return to Fizbuz Mithril and accept the follow-up quest
Fight Night.
- Solo Kajind and two other mobs (levels 46, 48, and 50) in the Gadgetzan arena.
- Turn in the quest at Fizbuz Mithril. As a reward, you’ll get
Rune of the Gladiator and

- If you can’t accept the initial quest
The Old Champ, put Gadgetazn “at war”, kill Fizbuz Mithril, and then uncheck “at war”. You should now be able to accept the quest.
- Don’t join a group while doing the quest chain. This may result in you not being able to hand in quest
Return to the Arena.
How to Get Sword and Board in SoD
You get the Sword and Board rune (Wrists) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Note: This quest chain is the same for all classes.
- Accept the quest
The Wild Gods from Shadowtooth Emissary in the Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood (51.6 82.0). Note: The quest requires level 40 and is not sharable.
- [Only needs to be completed by one player in the group] Kill elites in Jintha’alor in The Hinterlands until you get
Wildwhisper Draught.
- Kill the final boss in Razorfen Downs and clear the area.
- Use
Wildwhisper Draught on the small ledge. This will cause the Spirit of Agamaggan to spawn.
- Turn in the quest at the Spirit of Agamaggan. You will get
Agamaggan's Roar and the follow-up quest
The Wild Gods.
- Collect 3
Wild Offering in Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, or Blackrock Depths. You can go to the same dungeon multiple times (e.g. 3x Zul’Farrak). Everyone in the group can loot the items regardless of whether having the quest or not. However, to get the rune, you will need to accept the quest sooner or later.
- Zul’Farrak:
- Kill 2-3 bosses (may depend on the boss combination) to spawn a spider ghost.
- The chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence” indicates that you did it correctly.
- The spider patrols around and south of Gahz'rilla.
- Use
Agamaggan's Roar near the spider ghost. This will cause the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient to spawn.
- Kill the mob and loot
Wild Offering.
- Kill 2-3 bosses (may depend on the boss combination) to spawn a spider ghost.
- Maraudon:
- Kill Princess Theradras to spawn a raptor ghost in the water on the upper level.
The chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence” indicates that you did it correctly. - Use
Agamaggan's Roar near the raptor ghost. This will cause the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient to spawn.
- Kill the mob and loot
Wild Offering.
- Kill Princess Theradras to spawn a raptor ghost in the water on the upper level.
- Blackrock Depths:
- Kill Houndmaster Grebmar, High Interrogator Gerstahn, and the Ring of Law to spawn a basilisk ghost on the Dark Iron Highway leading to Bael’gar.
The chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence” indicates that you did it correctly. - Use
Agamaggan's Roar near the basilik ghost. This will cause the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient to spawn.
- Kill the mob and loot
Wild Offering.
- Kill Houndmaster Grebmar, High Interrogator Gerstahn, and the Ring of Law to spawn a basilisk ghost on the Dark Iron Highway leading to Bael’gar.
- Zul’Farrak:
- Return to Shadowtooth Emissary in Felwood and turn in the quest. You’ll receive
Hyjal's Wisdom from which you can learn the rune.

Note: This questline only needs to be completed once per account starting in SoD Phase 5. You can then buy item Emblem of the Wild Gods from Pix Xizzix at 28.4 75.8 in Booty Bay and mail it to an alt char. The emblem can be redeemed at a Rune Broker in any of the major cities to unlock the corresponding rune of the class.
How to Get Fresh Meat in SoD
You get the Fresh Meat rune (Back) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Go to Blackrock Stronghold at 43 36 in Burning Steppes.
- Get the buff
Rhythm of War by killing mobs in the stronghold back-to-back.
Note: The number of mobs you need to kill seems to vary. Just keep killing them until you have the buff. - Find the altar at 39 27 behind the keep.
- Use /salute. This will cause the level 60 elite Revered Champion to spawn.
- Kill Revered Champion.
- Loot
Rune of the First Warrior, and learn the rune from it. You’ll also get
Old Guard Retaliator.
How to Get Shockwave in SoD
You get the Shockwave rune (Back) in the Season of Discovery as follows:
Tip: Buy Water Treads from Duke Hydraxis at 79.2 73.6 in Azshara to speed up the following steps (requires Honored with Hydraxian Waterlords).
Note: The first quests of the chain require level 55. However, the last quest requires level 58.
- Find the Half-Buried Mech at 59.2 91.5 at the southern coast of Tanaris.
- Accept and complete the quest
Beach Bot (requires level 55).
- Accept the quest
Mechanical Romance. It provides you with
Guided Buoyancy Accelerant which you can use if you don’t have
Water Treads.
- Follow the direction Spike Lakeman is swimming in to find an island at 59.2 99.6.
Note: The island is full of level 60 mobs. - Accept the follow-up quest
Frosty Favors from Sebastian Jurgens.
- Turn in the quest at Numi in Everlook in Winterspring (61.2 37.0).
- Accept the follow-up quest
Red Bag Blues.
- Find Red Bag at 53.0 24.8 in Burning Steppes.
- Accept the follow-up quest
Poacher's Den.
- Recover the following materials:
- 5x
Vertically Composited Patch Hampler
- 5x
Brass-fitted Flam-Tamp Flange
- 5x
- Return to Numi and turn in the quest.
- Accept the quest
Bookin' it Back and return to Sebastian Jurgens on the island.
- Turn in the quest and accept the follow-up quest
Rift Away (requires level 58).
- Follow Sebastian Jurgens and you’ll get teleported to Tirisfal or Westfall.
- Talk to the NPC in the field and then click the button on the machine. This will cause the level 60 elite Harvest Golem V000-A to spawn.
- Kill Harvest Golem V000-A (1-2 healers and as much DPS as possible recommended).
- Loot Harvest Golem V000-A to get
Premonition and Combat Foresight from which you can learn the rune.
How to Get Sudden Death in SoD
You get the Sudden Death rune (Back) at level 55 in Silithus in the Season of Discovery as follows:
- Reach level 55 and make sure that your quest log isn’t full.
- Find the Wandering Swordsman in Silithus. It has many spawn points in the zone, e.g. around 48.6 52.8, 34.8 27.4, 33.6 56.8, and 44.2 83.2.
- Interact with Wandering Swordsman. You’ll get the quest
Infinite Midnight (requires level 55) and will be teleported to a platform.
Note: When a player challenges Wandering Swordsman, the mob despawns and respawns somewhere else ~3 min later. - Choose a difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard).
Several players have confirmed that you’ll get the rune regardless of the difficulty level (even if you choose Easy). - Defeat the Titanic Watcher and its adds.
- Turn in the quest. As a reward, you’ll get
Timeless Wanderer's Insights from which you can learn the rune.
